Job summary

CertainTeed, a Saint-Gobain company, seeks a Production Supervisor I for our Texas manufacturing site. You will lead hourly production employees on the night shift, promote safety, quality, and productivity, and drive Lean, 5S, TPM initiatives while coaching staff and ensuring compliance with procedures.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, manage onboarding and training, review time records, and support payroll processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, lead operator, or team leadership experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, military, or related environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, coaching employees, and driving performance results.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and commitment to creating a safe work environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise hourly production employees to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Foster a strong safety culture by conducting shift meetings, enforcing EHS requirements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Set performance expectations, provide coaching and development opportunities, and support employee engagement and accountability.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and developing production team members.
• Ensure employees receive appropriate training and follow established operating procedures and work instructions.
• Investigate safety, environmental, quality, and operational incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and other operational excellence programs.
• Maintain workplace organization and housekeeping standards throughout assigned production areas.
• Review and approve employee time records and ensure accurate payroll administration in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, quality, reliability, and overall plant performance.
