Job summary

PPG is seeking an Operational Support Engineer I to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will conduct process audits across manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to standards and procedures, identify gaps, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions that drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• Entry-level; 0-2 years of relevant experience; Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular process audits on the manufacturing floor to verify SOPs and work instructions.
• Identify process gaps and non-conformances; perform root cause analysis using methods like 5-Why, Ishikawa, 8D.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering to develop corrective action plans.
• Support lean manufacturing and update SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
