Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. is seeking an Operational Support Engineer I to join our manufacturing team in Ohio. The role focuses on conducting process audits across operations to ensure SOP adherence, identifying gaps, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to drive operational excellence.

The position runs Sunday night to Thursday night, 10:00 pm–6:30 am. The candidate will observe processes, identify deviations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to close gaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• Entry-level; 0-2 years of relevant manufacturing experience; Internship or co-op experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process audits on the manufacturing floor to verify SOP compliance.
• Identify process gaps and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering to develop and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and SOP development.
