Job summary

PPG is seeking an Operational Support Engineer I to join our manufacturing team. You will conduct process audits to ensure SOP adherence and identify gaps on the production floor. You will perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; Internship or co‑op experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and drive change; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, structured process audits on the manufacturing floor to verify SOP adherence and observe deviations.
• Identify process gaps and perform root cause analyses using structured methodologies (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D).
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to develop corrective actions and validate findings.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives and update SOPs and training materials.
