Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support a high-speed beverage plant in Glendale, AZ. You will work on-site, programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs on running production lines, mentoring maintenance staff, and driving automation improvements.

The role requires 4+ years of industrial automation experience, strong ladder logic skills in Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000, and excellent trouble-shooting across PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and networks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial automation or controls experience on high-speed manufacturing lines.
• Hands-on PLC programming, not just troubleshooting: write and modify ladder logic in Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo/motion, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging equipment.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and implement permanent corrective actions, including PLC/HMI changes.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Participate in Management of Change for controls, equipment, and process modifications.
• Maintain PLC/HMI program backups, drawings, and change records and support commissioning and system integration projects.
