Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, seeks a general labor/plant operations candidate in Ohio. Typical duties include operating heavy equipment, basic welding, and assisting with daily plant upkeep.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to OSHA/MSHA guidelines to maintain efficient production at the facility. Ideal applicants can read and follow directions, perform basic maintenance, and work nights/weekends as needed while joining Local 18 IUOE within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Willingness to wear PPE and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond appropriately.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as Haul Truck, Water Truck, Dump Truck, Dredge, Track Hoe, Frontend Loader, and Skid Steer.
• Read and follow directions and procedures.
• Weld and fabricate as needed.
• Assist with general labor, shoveling, maintenance, and supporting the crew as directed.
• Aid daily plant operations and upkeep.
• Keep the plant area clean and orderly.
• Understand and apply OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment.
