Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Emergency Department in Liberty, LA seeks a part-time Patient Care Assistant. You will provide approved care under RN supervision, assist patients with daily living activities, and support coworkers after completing your duties.

You will also assist with patient transport, observe patients as needed, and maintain accurate documentation. CPR training is required, and you’ll work in a fast-paced team dedicated to pediatric care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one of the following: clinical rotation or equivalent.
• Listed on the Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (reciprocity within 180 days if CNA is in another state).
• Listed on the Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry.
• One year of patient care experience within the last three years.
• Successful completion of the organization’s Patient Care Assistant training program after hire.
• Requires CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care - Provide approved care of assigned patients and assist in implementation of interventions under supervision of RN.
• Supervise and assist patients with activities of daily living; support co-workers after duties; assist with de-escalation as needed.
• Assist with patient transport as requested and 1 on 1 patient observation if needed.
• Demonstrate Cincinnati Children’s CARES behaviors; document changes in patient condition and maintain timely medical records.
• Ensure safe, organized, infection-controlled work environment; assist with supplies, charts, and orientation of new staff.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA clinical rotation completed

Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA with reciprocity

Ohio or National EMS Registry

One year patient care experience (last 3 years)

Patient Care Assistant training completed after hire
