Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Assistant for the Liberty Urgent Care to support evening duties. You will assist withPlan of Care under RN supervision, help with activities of daily living, and ensure a safe, organized clinical environment while maintaining timely documentation.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus one of several eligible credentials such as an accredited clinical rotation, Ohio STNA/CNA, EMS registry, or 1 year of patient care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one of the listed credentials.
• Clinical rotation from an ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited program or equivalent.
• State registry eligibility (STNA) or CNA certification in Ohio.
• EMS registry eligibility in Ohio or nationally.
• Minimum 1 year of patient care experience within 3 years.
• Completion of the organization’s Patient Care Assistant training after hire.
• CPR training and certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care – provide approved care and assist in interventions under RN supervision.
• Supervise activities of daily living and assist with developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assist co-workers after completing own duties and help with patient transport as requested.
• May assist with 1 on 1 patient observation as needed.
• Communicate status changes during shifts and document promptly in medical records.
• Maintain a safe, organized environment and comply with infection control policies.
• Respond to alarms, answer phones, assemble charts, and stock supplies; assist in training new staff.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited clinical rotation

Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA

Ohio or National EMS Registry

1 year patient care experience in last 3 years

Patient Care Assistant training program completed after hire

CPR certification trained
