Job summary

Allina Health in Hastings, MN is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our acute care team. The role supports Med/Surg, Emergency Department, and Mental Health units during permanent night shifts, with a 0.75 FTE (60 hours per two-week pay period) schedule and a 12-hour shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am.

Ideal candidates have CNA or nursing program completion and current BLS. The position involves direct patient care, monitoring, and collaboration with RNs to maintain safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or 17+ with high school diploma or GED
• Completion of one of the following: CNA program, nursing assistant academy, nursing rotations or equivalent experience
• BLS certification from AHA/Red Cross or Allina in-house training (within 30 days)

Responsibilities

• Observe, collect, and document health data as assigned.
• Answer call lights and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Document accurately and assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and hygiene.
• Transmit physician orders in the EMR and ensure timely medication handling and patient safety.
• Provide clerical support and assist with patient registration and discharge processes.
