Job summary
Allina Health in New Ulm, MN is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. You will take vital signs, assist with daily Living activities, and perform clerical duties on a 12-hour shift.
The role supports a .45 FTE (36 hours per two-week pay period) with a 12-hour day/evening/night schedule and every 3rd weekend rotation, requiring CNA training or equivalent and BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Must meet one of the following requirements: 18 years of age OR 17 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Must meet one of the following requirements: Completion of one semester of clinical rotations with an accredited nursing program OR Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program OR Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR NREMT certification upon hire OR Previous direct patient care experience
Responsibilities
- Observes, collects, and documents health status data as assigned.
- Reports immediately to the RN observations/health status data that are not within normal limits.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL) with direction from the RN.
- Documents according to documentation guidelines.
- Transports medication per facility standards.
- Schedules procedures/appointments as needed.
