Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital at NYU Langone Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician on the 11th Floor for part-time night shifts. The role supports the professional nurse in patient care, ensuring safe, compassionate service while maintaining unit safety and cleanliness.

Minimum qualifications include a PCT program graduate or CNA with relevant certifications and 6 months hospital experience; BLS/CPR certification is required. A 3-month online PCT program completion is expected after hire.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program w/ at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate plus course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible plus at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification. (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA)
• Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional nurse in the care of patients and families by completing assigned patient care tasks.
• Provides competent, safe, and compassionate care with emphasis on an understanding of hospitalization challenges.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the unit and environment.
• Participates in unit meetings, orientation, and mandatory education.
