Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital on the 12th Floor is seeking a Patient Care Technician for part-time evening shifts (6 months hospital experience required). The role supports nurses, maintains safety, and helps with patient care tasks in a fast-paced academic medical center.

The ideal candidate will have a PCT program or CNA background, BLS/CPR certification, and must be able to communicate clearly with patients and the health care team.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry to position.

Responsibilities

• Assists in caring for patients and families by completing assigned tasks and supporting the unit.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and environment with safety.
• Participates in data collection for Quality Improvement and patient satisfaction measures.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Supports admission, transfer, and discharge procedures and emergency responses.
