Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy training and PCT certification eligible.
• PCT Certification through NHA with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates NYU Langone Health Core Values in duties.
• Assists in data collection for unit Quality & Performance Improvement.
• Communicates with patients, families and staff.
• Supports admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of patient areas and equipment.
• Aids in phlebotomy, fingerstick glucose testing and ECGs as assigned.
