Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 11th Floor, Part Time Nights. You will assist in patient care under the supervision of a nurse, support unit operations, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, confidentiality, and responsiveness to patient needs. Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS/CPR, and hospital experience or PCT program completion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. PCT program completion or CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy coursework. PCT certification eligible or NHA-certified with hospital experience.
• BLS/CPR certification required upon entry or within 3 months.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care tasks.
• Support unit safety and supplies management.
• Participate in data collection for quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges per unit operations.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and staff.
