Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team on the 11th floor. You will assist nurses, support patient care tasks, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while focusing on compassionate care and patient satisfaction.

The role requires hospital experience, completion of a PCT program or CNA pathway, and BLS/CPR certification. This is a part-time position with opportunities to contribute to patient-centered outcomes within NYU Langone Health.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy training and PCT certification eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• PCT certification through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS/ Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry.
• Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing patient care under the nurse's supervision.
• Contributes to data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Supports patient confidentiality, privacy, dignity and rights.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures per unit operations.
• Communicates with patients, families, and staff in a respectful manner.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and safety; supports supplies and equipment management.
• Participates in unit meetings, education, and clinical orientation.
