Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patients under RN/LPN direction. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic care tasks in a night shift on-site setting.

Must have a high school diploma or GED and completion of a PCT, RN fundamentals course, CNA program, or equivalent direct patient care experience. BLS certification is required; phlebotomy/EKG skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and plan of care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Communicate with and support healthcare team, patients and families.
• Perform vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as applicable.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Reinforces education of patient and family regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
