Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nurses and the care team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and help maintain a safe, clean environment during night shifts.

Under RN/LPN direction, you will take vital signs, perform basic tests, document changes, and reinforce patient education. A PCT training, BLS, and a GED or high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Grade Equivalent Diploma (GED) required.
• Must have completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, CNAs, or have 1 year of direct patient care.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, mobility).
• Take vital signs and perform point-of-care testing as directed by RN/LPN; reinforce safety.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the care team and document appropriately.
• Reinforce education of patient and family on individual care needs and safety issues.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
