Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ is hiring for an on-site patient care role. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LPN, you will assist with activities of daily living and support the plan of care, communicating with the healthcare team and patient families.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/CNA program, or equivalent patient care experience. BLS certification is required, and phlebotomy training may be needed for ED positions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and mobility/transport.
• Performs technical duties as directed by RN/LPN: vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, Foley catheter care; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Reinforces education of patient and family/responsible party regarding care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
