Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support daily living activities and care plans in the Med Surg/Post Surgical Unit.

Under RN/LPN supervision, you will take vital signs, assist with procedures, and promote patient safety while communicating with families and teammates. BLS and a CNA/PCT pathway are preferred; licensure is not required for all roles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a PCT, RN fundamentals course, CNA program, or 1 year direct patient care experience.
• BLS certification; phlebotomy training may be required for Emergency Department positions.
• Maintains regulatory competencies and engages in ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care and mobility.
• Monitor patient status, perform vital signs and document accurately.
• Support RN/LPN in care delivery and maintain infection control standards.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team and educate patients/families.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and quality improvement activities.
