UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the Inpatient 8 North unit on Worcester campus. This 24-hour night shift role supports nursing staff and delivers essential patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Under licensed clinician supervision, you will monitor patients, assist with daily living activities, take vitals, and perform basic procedures while communicating clearly with the care team. Minimum education and BLS required; bilingual a plus.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification within 30 days.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN about observations and changes seen in patients.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist with daily living activities and patient comfort.
• Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients with proper safety techniques.
• Take and record vital signs and measurements; monitor weight/height.
• Perform EKGs, POC tests, and bladder scanning per standards; prepare lab specimens.
• Assist RN/LIP with treatments; prepare equipment and supplies; provide emotional support.
• Provide respectful, culturally appropriate communication with patients and staff.
