Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Central Massachusetts is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff during night shifts. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and help ensure a safe, respectful environment for our diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days as a condition of employment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must remain calm under stress or in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Perform vital signs and basic lab prep responsibilities.
• Support RN with treatments, equipment setup, and safety procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, and assist with discharge prep.
