Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the 6 East inpatient unit. This 24-hour day shift on-site position provides essential bedside support under licensed clinicians, including monitoring patients, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring safety.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and English proficiency; prior inpatient care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification current.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Medical Terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direction of the RN.
• Takes and records vital signs and monitors patient status.
• Assists with activities of daily living and meals.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients safely.
• Maintains patient safety and follows restraint policies when needed.
• Communicates findings clearly to the healthcare team.
