Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the night shift in Massachusetts. Under supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support the healthcare team to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include communication with nurses, safety checks, and basic procedures such as EKGs and specimen transport. A high school diploma and BLS are required, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• English reading/writing ability and basic medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Communicate observations to the RN clearly and promptly.
• Provide continuous observation for high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist with daily living activities and patient hygiene.
• Move, lift, and position patients using safe body mechanics.
• Take vital signs and record measurements as directed.
• Support treatments, prepare equipment, and maintain a safe environment.
