Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the night shift to support patients with activities of daily living and participate in care planning under RN/LPN supervision.

The role emphasizes strong communication with the healthcare team, patients, and families, while maintaining high professional ethics. Training and certifications such as BLS and phlebotomy are encouraged to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• Basic patient care skills and safety are required.
• BLS certification is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Performs phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and catheter care as directed.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
