Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Per Diem Nursing Assistant to support patients’ daily living activities on the night shift at Voorhees location. The role emphasizes safe patient handling, vital signs monitoring, and collaborative care with the nursing team.

Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, mobility, and education for patients and families; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs where certified; participates in quality initiatives and orientation of new hires.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene and assisting with mobility and transport.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning and Foley catheter care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces education of patient and family regarding care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
