Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living and support the plan of care under RN/LPN supervision. You will help with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility, while maintaining safety and high professional ethics.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, Foley care, and possible phlebotomy/EKG duties if certified. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a PCT course or a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or 1 year of direct patient care.
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy training/education required for ED positions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility) and supports plan of care.
• Performs vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as directed; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
