Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking an Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living and support the care plan under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/LPN. The role emphasizes communication with the healthcare team, patients, and families, while upholding high professional ethics.

Responsibilities include performing ADL tasks, taking vital signs, and assisting with tests such as phlebotomy or EKGs when certified.

Qualifications

• Basic patient care skills and procedures are required.
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Monitor vital signs and perform scheduled tasks (POCT, bladder scanning, Foley care).
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; report changes to RN/LPN.
• Support patient education and safety, participate in satisfaction and quality initiatives, assist in onboarding new hires.
