Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees Township, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under RN/LPN direction. You will support the healthcare team, communicate with patients and families, and uphold high professional ethics.

Responsibilities include helping with bathing, mobility, vital signs, and basic care; may perform phlebotomy or EKGs if certified. Strong communication and foundational patient-care skills are required; BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, CNA program, or have 1 year of direct patient care.
• BLS certification is required.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, mobility) under RN/LPN direction.
• Take vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as appropriate; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety issues.
• Support Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
