Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for night shift, part-time, on-site. The role supports nursing care, assists with activities of daily living, and helps with basic medical tasks under RN/LPN supervision.

Required: High School diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/nursing course or CNA program, BLS, and may require phlebotomy/EKG certifications. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a PCT course, RN fundamentals nursing course, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or 1 year direct patient care experience is expected.
• BLS certification; Phlebotomy training/education required for Emergency Department positions; ongoing education and competencies.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; demonstrates standard precautions and safe patient practices.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living and plan of care under RN/LPN.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as appropriate.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
