Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to oversee the admission, registration and discharge processes across its Michigan facilities. You will supervise daily staff activities, ensure accuracy of patient and billing information, and enforce HIPAA and billing compliance.

You will train new employees, monitor performance, and implement process improvements to support efficient patient access operations on a full-time shift.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in business management, accounting or related field.
• Two years’ experience in Patient Access or a related department.
• One-year experience in a leadership role leading or assisting in supervision (recruitment, performance management, training).
• OR five years in Patient Access or related department with one-year leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily duties of staff engaged in registration, admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Review department work for customer satisfaction and third-party billing accuracy; document productivity and quality metrics; take corrective action as needed.
• Train new staff and assess ongoing training needs; provide additional training as it relates to admitting or registration.
• Train staff on collecting copays and deductibles at patient access.
• Design and monitor policies for admitting and registration aligned with management objectives.
• Create and monitor staff schedules and timesheets for payroll.
