Job summary

McLaren in Southfield, MI is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to plan, direct, and evaluate the staff and functions of the Patient Access Department. You will oversee registration, admission, transfer, and discharge activities and ensure accuracy in third-party billing.

You will train new staff, monitor performance, and implement management objectives across admitting and registration processes while coordinating schedules and payroll data for the department.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience in Patient Access or related department is expected.
• Leadership experience in supervision and training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily duties of registration, admission, transfer and discharge staff.
• Review department work for customer satisfaction and billing accuracy; monitor productivity and quality with feedback and actions.
• Provide training to new staff and ongoing development for existing staff.
• Direct collection of copays and deductibles at patient access points.
• Understand and align with management objectives; design and monitor admitting/registration policies.
• Maintain staff schedules and timesheets; enter payroll data.
