Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Patient Access Registrar in Michigan to support smooth and timely patient registration and admission processes. You will perform demographic and financial data collection in the EMR, greet patients, and guide them to the appropriate setting while explaining any delays.

The role requires strong customer service, familiarity with EMR systems, and the ability to navigate financial interactions with patients. Full-time schedule with on-site work and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service role or health care industry.
• Preferred familiarity with Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently performs registration and financial functions via EMR, documenting demographic and financial data.
• Greet customers promptly with a warm and friendly reception.
• Collects, documents, scans all required demographic and financial information.
• Direct patients to appropriate setting and explain delays when needed.
• Maintain professionalism and diplomacy per department standards.
• Estimates and collects copays, deductibles, and other patient financial obligations.
• Ensure compliance with Hospital and Department Plans and Meaningful Use requirements.
• Facilitate use of electronic registration tools (e.g., Wacom tablets, iPads).
• Performs duties as assigned by Management.
