Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for night shift coverage. This role interfaces with patients, payers and the care team to collect demographics, verify insurance, and secure out-of-pocket payments to maximize hospital reimbursement.

Responsibilities include ensuring accurate patient identity, handling registrations, and maintaining records in a fast-paced environment. The position emphasizes compliance, customer service, and coordination with hospital operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Fluency in English; Spanish language proficiency may be required in certain markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient tracking and billing by collecting demographic information and securing out-of-pocket payments.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and hospital regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and protect patient safety during arrival and registration.
• Verify demographic data, insurance benefits, and authorizations as needed.
• Process registrations, collect payments, and maintain accurate cash and records.
