Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Access Associate to support inpatient and outpatient billing with a focus on accurate data collection, insurance verification, and customer service.

Reporting to the Patient Access Manager, the role requires handling demographic/insurance data, establishing payment arrangements, and assisting patients with funding options while meeting performance metrics across the revenue cycle.

Competenze

• Associate Degree or higher with 2 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent customer service and ability to convey detailed information.
• Knowledge of insurance plans and benefits.
• Ability to work nights and weekends; willingness to flexible shifts.

Mansioni

• Enter/update demographic and insurance information for all patients.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility in real-time; obtain authorizations as needed.
• Explain prepayment requirements and arrange funding sources; refer to funding options as appropriate.
• Assist in collecting copayments and deductibles; post and reconcile payments.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve billing inquiries.
