Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for Hospital Operator Services. Shift: 11:00 pm – 7:30 am, with every other weekend and rotating holidays. You will be the first point of contact, handling scheduling, patient data entry, and insurance verification.

You will uphold HIPAA, deliver compassionate service, and collaborate with multiple departments using Epic. Requires high school diploma and 2–3 years of customer service or medical office experience; strong communication

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years customer service or medical office experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Responds to questions and concerns.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Provides accurate information and schedules appointments via NMHC systems.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Collects authorization numbers in applicable systems.
• Cross-training between departments to ensure coverage.
