Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Center City ED, night shift. You will register patients, verify insurance, collect demographics, determine eligibility for charity care, and handle orders and eligibility checks. Responsibilities include MSPQ interviews and ensuring compliance across all access points.

The role requires strong communication, Medicare knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail, with rotation across outpatient registration and the ED.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• 3 years ED or hospital patient access experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC/Cerner and payer websites.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and gather accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance and collect out-of-pocket responsibilities.
• Identify uninsured patients for referral to Medical Assistance/Charity Care.
• Enter orders and confirm medical necessity for outpatient visits.
• Interview Medicare patients for MSPQ questionnaire.
• Rotate through ED and outpatient registration points.
• Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
