Responsibilities also include verifying insurance, providing cost estimates, arranging pre-certifications, educating patients on financial clearance, and assisting the care team to remove access barriers.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of work experience in a clerical, customer service or receptionist position; 2 years' experience preferred.
• Certification and memberships to local organizations such as AAHAM, NAHAM, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling all aspects of customer service for Patient Access/Patient Administrative Services.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance benefits and provide cost estimates; secure pre-certifications and/or pre-notifications.
• Educate patients on financial clearance and available financial assistance options; assist with ADT functions across clinics.
• Maintains scheduling templates for providers in outpatient locations and communicates with Care Management for reimbursement.
• Assists training of new Admitting staff by demonstrating operating processes.
