Job summary

University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Evening shift (3p-11:30p, including weekends and holidays). The role handles scheduling, registration, pre-admission processing, wayfinding and other admin duties with strict data-entry accuracy.

You will collaborate with care teams and revenue cycle to reduce barriers to access and reimbursement while educating patients on financial clearance, estimated costs, and available assistance.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school education with diploma or GED.
• Certification memberships (AAHAM, NAHAM) preferred.
• 1 year of clerical/customer service work in healthcare; 2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for patients and visitors, delivering customer-focused service.
• Collect and verify patient and insurance demographics; provide cost estimates and secure pre-certifications.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage and financial clearance; assist with ADT and registration processes.
• Assist with scheduling and directing patients to the correct clinics; ensure accurate paperwork before admissions.
