Qualifications

• Entry level; minimum one year of customer service experience.
• Patient Access experience preferred.
• Minimum of two years hospital registration or insurance verification experience upon hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic coding & procedural coding required.
• Ability to explain insurance benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-focused customer service during registration.
• Register patients for outpatient and inpatient services.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility.
• Collect patient payments and ensure financial requirements are met.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices.
