Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Fluency in English; Spanish preferred and may be required in some settings.
• Two years in a hospital or healthcare registration, billing, cash collection or insurance.
• Familiarity with third party payers and medical terminology; proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information for inpatients and outpatients during registration.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, physician offices and payers.
• Communicate financial/insurance information to case management and financial counseling staff as needed.
• Complete managed care notification requirements and protect patient confidentiality.
• Enter registration data accurately and collect signatures and payments as required.
