Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Representative II, Patient Access in Germantown, MD for part-time night shifts (10:30pm–7am, Fridays and Saturdays, every other weekend). You will collect and verify demographic and financial information for patients during registration and support the registration workflow with courteous service.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, two years in healthcare, strong typing (45 wpm) and computer skills, and fluency in English with Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred; Spanish may be required in some settings.
• Two-year experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, preferably in registration, billing, cash collections or insurance.
• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft products, and email.
• Typing 45 wpm or higher.
• Excellent telephone customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to transport patients by wheelchair.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information for inpatients and outpatients during registration or prior to it.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, family members, physician offices, third-party payers, and coworkers.
• Communicate financial/insurance information to case management and financial counseling staff when appropriate; complete managed care notifications.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy and security policies.
• May enter laboratory and radiology orders when necessary.
• Assess patient financial status, verify and enter accurate information, obtain signatures on forms, and collect applicable payments before or at service provision.
