Job summary

ECU Health seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse on night shifts. The role requires an NAI listing with NC DHHS and current HeartSaver certification. You will participate in QI, education, and team handoffs, while maintaining patient safety and documentation.

This is a 0.9 FTE position with three 12-hour shifts weekly, including weekends, at ECU Health Medical Center in North Carolina. Benefits available; pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• NAI listing with NC Department of Health and Human Services required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Quality Improvement activities and data collection.
• Attends staff development programs and participates in orientation of new staff.
• Provides direct patient care under supervision of licensed nurse and completes delegated tasks.
• Maintains patient safety and follows infection control and safety regulations.
• Documents accurately in the medical record and communicates with the care team.
• Participates in unit goals and effective teamwork, using chain of command as needed.
