Job summary

ECU Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work under the supervision of a licensed nurse on a designated unit. The role supports direct patient care, participates in unit and hospital quality initiatives, and maintains NAI licensure in North Carolina.

Requirements include NAI listing with NC DHHS, current HeartSaver or higher certification, and completion of de-escalation training within 90 days of hire. This full‑time role offers day shifts and benefits.

Qualifications

• NAI listing with NC Department of Health and Human Services is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or equivalent) required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Quality Improvement (QI) activities and data collection; adheres to safety, infection control, and fire/disaster regulations.
• Attends staff development programs, completes mandatory education, and participates in orientation of new staff and students.
• Follows hospital policies; provides Quality patient care and maintains active NAI licensure/certification.
• Maintains effective communication and teamwork, supports patient care, and assists in cost‑effective use of equipment and supplies.
