Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Technologist for the 3rd shift at the ACL Laboratories – Lutheran: Transfusion in Park Ridge, IL. You will perform, evaluate and monitor laboratory tests, ensuring timely results in a high-acuity setting.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and eligibility for MT/MLS certification within 1 year, plus strong communication skills to collaborate with care teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Licensure/Certification: MT/MLS eligibility within 1 year (ASCP/AMT) is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests per protocols and adjusts workflow for timely completion.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports results following policy.
• Calibrates, maintains, and repairs instruments; identifies malfunctions and corrects them.
• Documents quality control and quality assurance; takes corrective actions when needed.
• Collects specimens from patients of all ages; ensures proper labeling and testing suitability.
• Provides training and guidance to staff; assists in education and protocol development.
• Supports quality and efficiency improvements and complies with accrediting standards.
