Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time Medical Laboratory Technician to join WI ACL Laboratories at AMC St Lukes. The role involves performing a variety of lab tests, monitoring workflows, and ensuring accuracy across transfusion services and other departments.

Training will be provided to obtain required ASCP-BOC or AMT credentials within one year. You will work 24 hours per week on third shift, with weekend/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field.
• ASCP-BOC MLT certification within 1 year or AMT MLT within 1 year.
• No experience required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts to complete work in a timely manner.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness.
• Follows policy for reporting and notifying test results.
• Calibrates and maintains instruments and equipment as needed.
• Performs quality control and corrective actions when indicated.
• Supports transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry.
