Job summary

Advocate Health's Illinois ACL Laboratory seeks a dedicated professional to perform and monitor routine and specialized laboratory tests across multiple departments. You will work within approved protocols, calibrate instruments, and ensure quality control while maintaining patient safety and accuracy in reporting.

The role requires strong communication skills, a Bachelor’s degree or NAACLS-certified program, and the ability to train and mentor staff.

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated.
• Calibrates, maintains and repairs instruments and equipment; recognizes indicators of malfunction and applies corrections.
• Performs and reviews quality control and quality assurance per protocol and takes corrective action when indicated.
• Ensures proper labeling and specimen collection from patients of all ages.
• Provides direction, training and technical assistance to staff; assists in education and training protocols.
