Advocate Health Care in the United States is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and monitor laboratory tests in a fast-paced setting. The role requires accuracy in result reporting, instrument calibration, and adherence to quality control procedures while supporting transfusion services and critical care departments.

The position requires an Associate’s degree in Clinical Lab Technician and MLT certification within 1 year, with flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Maintains patient confidentiality in and out of the workplace.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may include alternate site assignment.

Responsabilités

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts to complete work in a timely manner.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and validity; reports results per policy.
• Maintains and calibrates instruments; performs quality control and corrective actions as needed.
• Supports transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry testing as required.
• Provides technical assistance to phlebotomists and staff; ensures readiness for critical care departments during high-acuity events.
