Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Inc. in Gilbert, AZ, is opening a new laboratory location and recruiting Medical Laboratory Scientists to join the team as generalists. This 0.9 FTE night shift, hourly position features a variable schedule with rotating weekends at the new East Valley lab.

The MLS II will perform standard, complex, and specialized tests, ensure quality control, interpret results, and participate in implementation of new procedures while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Clinical Laboratory Science program from an accredited institution or equivalent per CLIA high complexity standards.
• Current nationally recognized certification (ASCP or equivalent).
• Experience in clinical laboratory operations or related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, accurate reports of test results and analyses.
• Perform a full range of laboratory procedures (chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic, and immunohematologic).
• Participate in evaluating new procedures, instrumentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure ongoing quality control, instrument maintenance, and data validation.
• Troubleshoot technical, instrument, or data issues to ensure accurate results.
• Assist peers with workload and contribute to general laboratory operations.
