Job summary

Phoenix Children’s in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist to join the Core Lab team for a 0.9 FTE day shift (5am-5:30pm) with rotating weekends. This generalist position performs tests across Chemistry, Urinalysis, Hematology, and Coagulation, with opportunities to work in Flow Cytometry or Special Chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Prepares clear, accurate reports of test results for patient treatment decisions and performs chemical, hematologic, immunologic, and related procedures.
• Participates in evaluation or development of new procedures, instrumentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains professional and technical competency by staying current with literature, practices, and new developments.
• Participates in standard, complex and specialized patient testing and quality control testing of samples.
• Differentiates and resolves technical or instrument problems to interpret results.
• Performs regular instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assists peers with work assignments.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
