Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Royal Oak, MI seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for the night shift (10:30 PM–07:00 AM) with weekend rotation. You will perform specimen handling, testing, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.

Education required: BS in Medical Technology or related science; MLS/CLS certification preferred. Experience: 1 year of high-complexity testing preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or related science; MLS/CLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, report to senior technologist or supervisor.
